1 Day Workshop
This hands on project oriented workshop features a new approach in watercolor landscape quilt making. Using fewer fabrics, Broiderie Perse appliqué and a tear-away foundation, quilt tops are super fast and super easy to construct. Students may choose from at least 2 projects. Kits are required. (Kits are $15 and contain all the necessary fabrics and foundation, excluding borders. Fabrics may vary from photographs). Cathy’s fee is $375.

Lecture and Trunk Show
Cathy’s lecture and trunk show feature many of her quilts and their stories. She uses a Power Point presentation to illustrate tips and tricks for designing successful landscapes, drafting patterns on graph paper, sources of her inspiration, and types of fabrics to choose when creating landscape quilts. A brief overview of her new technique using a tear-away stabilizer introduces quilters to a fast method of quilt top construction suitable for many quilt blocks and whole quilt patterns. (Irish Chain, Variable Star and other similar 9 and 4 patch blocks). This lecture is meant to augment the 'hands on' workshops. Fee is $125 with workshop, or $150 without.

Aspen and Maple Tree Trunks
Half Day Workshop (3 hours)
Students will construct two very simple landscapes on a whole cloth backgrounds and learn how to shade tree trunks with dye markers and pastels as well as draw simple sapling trunks. (I provide the markers, crayons and pastels). This is a very fun, 'freeing' class and introduces an easy technique for students wishing to add something extra special to their landscape quilts. This is an excellent class to offer along side the Watercolor Landscapes class since these are two different techniques used in creating landscape quilts. Kits are required, kits are $15 (1 kit creates both quilts, border fabric is not included). Fee is $200.
